A chart divider set is specified by its cut — how many tab positions step down the page edge before the pattern repeats. The 1/8 and 1/10 cuts are the records-room standards because a patient chart divides into more sections than a general office binder: history, orders, progress notes, medications, labs, imaging, consults, insurance, and whatever else your workflow charts against.
