How to Fill an Entire Tab Set in Seconds

In the designer, find the “Fill tabs automatically” bar under Tab Text & Colors. Pick a style, then click “Fill … tabs” and every tab in the set is filled in one click.

Four sequence styles are built in:

• Numbers — 1, 2, 3 … the classic numbered index.
• Letters — A, B, C … through Z, then AA, AB, and on.
• Roman numerals — I, II, III … for legal and formal sets.
• Months — January through December, a ready-made year of tabs.

Next to the style is a “Start at” box. Leave it at 1 for a standard set, or start anywhere — 101, 501, or “Exhibit 12” — and the whole sequence follows from there. It's ideal for large exhibit binders that continue where a previous volume left off.

Already have your section titles typed up? Click “Paste a list…” — or the “Already have your titles in a list?” card above the designer — paste them in one per line, and click “Fill tabs from list.” Line one becomes tab one, line two becomes tab two, and so on down the set — no retyping.

If your list is longer than the current set, the set grows to fit automatically — paste ten titles into a five-tab set and you get a ten-tab set, up to the 150-tab maximum. Long titles balance onto two lines on their own.

However you fill the set, nothing is locked in. Click any tab to retype it, give tabs their own Mylar colors, or change the font — then watch the live, to-scale preview update. And nothing prints until you approve a free PDF proof.
