Paper TabsPoly Tabs

Tabzoola is a US manufacturer and supplier of custom estate planning tabs and binder dividers, manufactured to order at our own plant in Schaumburg, Illinois — Tabzoola is the online tab division of Anselmo Die & Index, Inc., die-cutting index tabs since 1993 and shipping nationwide.

Custom estate planning tabs are printed binder dividers that organize a client's will, revocable trust, powers of attorney, healthcare directive and asset records into labeled sections of the estate-plan binder. Estate planning attorneys and financial advisors deliver a finished plan as a binder the client keeps for years — so it should be organized, complete, and professional. Tabzoola prints custom estate planning tabs to a clear, standard section structure, collated and ready to assemble for every client.

Choose Mylar-reinforced paper for a substantial, economical set, or wipe-clean poly for a premium binder that holds up to years of reference. Every set is manufactured to order in our Schaumburg, Illinois plant.

A complete, repeatable estate-plan structure

Standardize the binder every client receives — Will, Revocable Trust, Power of Attorney, Healthcare Directive / Living Will, Beneficiary Designations, Asset Inventory, Insurance, and Important Contacts. Set your exact section names in the online designer and we print and collate matching sets so every estate plan you hand out looks consistent.

  • Will, Trust, POA, and Healthcare Directive section tabs
  • Asset inventory, beneficiaries, and insurance dividers
  • Color-coded sections (19 Mylar colors / 11 poly colors)
  • Collated into complete sets — ready to assemble per client

A keepsake binder built to last

An estate plan sits on a shelf for years and gets pulled at important moments, so durability matters. Mylar edge reinforcing keeps paper tabs from tearing out of the rings; .015 poly gives a premium, wipe-clean feel. Both can be 3-hole punched and printed on one or both sides.

Popular estate planning tab configurations

Most estate binders fall into one of three shapes, and the right tab cut follows from the section count. On a portrait divider the tabs share a 10-inch working edge, so a 1/6 cut gives six tabs about 1.67 inches long in one cascade; past one bank, the cascade simply repeats in a second, staggered bank.

  • 6-tab set (simple will plan, 1/6 cut): Overview, Last Will & Testament, Powers of Attorney, Healthcare Directive / Living Will, Beneficiary Designations, Important Contacts.
  • 8-tab set (the common attorney set): Will, Revocable Trust, Power of Attorney, Healthcare Directive, Beneficiary Designations, Asset Inventory, Insurance, Important Contacts.
  • 10- to 12-tab set (revocable living trust plan): add Certificate of Trust, Trust Schedules / Assets, Funding Instructions and Correspondence — usually a 1/6 cut in two banks so each tab stays readable across a desk.
  • Trustee administration binder (4 to 6 tabs): Funding Instructions, Titles & Deeds, Account Designations, Contacts — the section set a family actually opens first.
  • Materials: 90# or 110# index stock with Mylar-reinforced edges, or .015 poly; 3-hole punched, collated in binder order. An 8-tab paper set is $8.00 per set at 25 sets and $2.44 at 250.

Priced as you build it

Whatever the structure, the designer prices it live: sections, quantity, paper or poly, colors. Sets arrive collated in binder order, so assembling each client binder is one pass, not a sort.

Amendments and restatements without reprinting the binder

Estate plans change — a codicil, a first restatement, a new marriage. The binder should absorb the change without being rebuilt. Because every design is saved, you can later order just an Amendment or First Restatement tab in the next open position, matched to the original set's cut, Mylar color, and stock, and drop it into binders already in clients' hands.

The same mechanism replaces a single damaged divider years on: specify the position and the saved design, and the replacement matches the set it rejoins.

Timing an order around signing meetings

Paper sets run about 5 business days in production from proof approval, poly about 15, plus transit — so for a scheduled signing meeting, ordering two to three weeks out is comfortable for paper, and a standing reorder of your standard set means new client binders never wait on printing. Rush production is available on inquiry when a date is close.

Standard sets are letter-size: an 8.5 x 11 body finishing at 9 x 11 with the half-inch tab extension. If your documents run legal-size, ask for a quote — non-letter sheets are custom work quoted at the plant.

Frequently asked questions

What tabs go in a will and trust binder?

A will and trust binder is indexed around the documents themselves and the instructions for using them: Will, Revocable Trust, Trust Schedules, Powers of Attorney, Healthcare Directive, Beneficiary Designations, Deeds and Titles, Insurance, Financial Accounts, and Letter of Instruction. Firms often give Funding Instructions its own tab, since that is the section clients and successor trustees need first. Because the tabs are printed to your wording, the binder uses your firm's document names rather than generic labels.

How much do custom estate planning tabs cost?

You'll know before you commit to anything: the online designer shows your exact price live as you build the set — sections, quantity, paper or poly, Mylar colors — no quote request, no waiting, no sales call. Quantity breaks apply automatically, the minimum is 25 sets, and every order includes a free PDF proof first.

What sections do estate planning binder tabs usually include?

A common structure is Will, Revocable Trust, Power of Attorney, Healthcare Directive, Beneficiary Designations, Asset Inventory, Insurance, and Important Contacts — but you set your own exact section names in the designer.

Can I order matching estate-plan binders for every client?

Yes. Sets are collated and made to order, so you can print as many identical binders as you need. The minimum is 25 sets with volume pricing up to 1,000+.

Should I choose paper or poly for an estate-plan binder?

Mylar-reinforced paper is durable and economical for client binders; poly (plastic) gives a premium, wipe-clean feel for a binder kept for many years. Both hold up well in three-ring use.

Can I order custom printed estate planning tabs online?

Yes — design them in the online configurator: type your firm's exact section names, pick colors and stock, and watch the price update live. Every order includes a free PDF proof before printing, and paper sets ship in about 5 business days from approval.

Custom vs. stock estate planning tabs — which should a firm buy?

Stock index tabs come with fixed, generic sections; custom printed estate planning tabs match your firm's exact binder structure and wording, arrive collated in order, and usually cost about the same once you stop buying multiple stock packs to cover one binder.

Can I add an Amendment tab to binders I've already delivered?

Yes — that's the point of saved designs. Order an Amendment, Codicil, or First Restatement tab in the next open position and we match the original set's cut, position geometry, Mylar color, and stock, so the new tab drops into a binder delivered years ago and looks like it was always there. Single-position and small add-on orders are a standard part of the product, not an exception.

How far ahead of a signing meeting should we order?

Two to three weeks is comfortable for paper sets: production runs about 5 business days from PDF-proof approval, plus transit. Poly runs about 15 production days, so order poly a month out. Firms with a standard binder keep a reorder on the shelf so a signing date never waits on printing; rush production is available on inquiry when a date is already close.

Can the tabs match our firm's branding?

Within the manufacturing palette, yes: pick Mylar colors that echo your brand (19 on paper, 11 on poly), print your firm's exact document names on each tab, and add a one- or two-color imprint. Color changes within a set carry a one-time $35 charge per additional color — not per tab — so a branded two-color scheme costs about a dime per set at typical quantities.

Megan, thank you for the kind words — I'll pass them straight to Justin. Getting every question answered before anything prints is exactly how we like to work, so "now I feel like an expert" is about the best review we could ask for. Whenever your next set of tabs comes up, your questions are always welcome. John Anselmo, Tabzoola

Great Price

Glad I found you online. You're approximately 30 percent less than my old supplier and easier to work with. I'll be back.

Ben H. · Aug 22, 2026

Thank you, Ben — the price is no accident. We publish the whole table, setup included, so the number you see while you design is the number on the invoice. Glad the switch was easy, and we'll be ready when you are. — Tabzoola

Great customer service

I can't say enough about how great Justin was helping me with my order. After I approved the order he took time to call me to ask if i was sure about a decision to use next day delivery on the whole order when only a partial would keep me going while the rest of the order shipped ups ground. He saved me a ton of money. Thank you for caring about your customers. I wish more people were like you.

Amy L. · Aug 20, 2026
Response from Tabzoola

Thank you, Amy — I'll make sure Justin sees this. Splitting the shipment so only the part you needed went next-day was the right call, and it's the kind of thing we'd rather catch on the phone than have you find on the invoice. Anyone here would have made that call. Thank you for taking the time to write it down. — Tabzoola

Perri V. · Aug 18, 2026
Response from Tabzoola

Thank you, Perri — losing a supplier you've used for years is a real headache, and matching a set you already rely on is the kind of job we like. If you ever need another one matched, a photo of an existing tab is enough for us to pick up the titles and the colors. Glad we could keep you running. — Tabzoola

Perfect!

Tabs came out better than expected. Will definitely be back.

Joan S. · Aug 18, 2026
Response from Tabzoola

Thank you, Joan — better than expected is a good place to land. The part people usually don't expect is the make: real die-cut tabs on index stock, with the Mylar bonded on both sides of the extension, which is where tabs tear first. We'll be ready whenever you need the next run. — Tabzoola
