Design Paper TabsPoly Tabs

Tabzoola is a US manufacturer and supplier of custom alphabetical index tabs, A–Z and beyond, made to order in Schaumburg, Illinois by Anselmo Die & Index, Inc., the family-owned plant that has die-cut index tabs since 1993 and trades online as Tabzoola, shipping nationwide.

Alphabetical tabs organize client files, directories, parts lists, and reference binders by letter. Tabzoola prints custom A–Z index tabs — and double-letter AA–ZZ sets for larger filing systems — collated in order and edge-reinforced.

Set your own colors and cut, and we print and finish the set to order in our USA plant.

A–Z, AA–ZZ, or your own letters

Order a standard 26-tab A–Z set, an expanded double-alphabet AA–ZZ set for high-volume filing, or a custom letter sequence. Combine letters with section names if you want (e.g., "A — Accounts").

  • A–Z single alphabet (26 tabs)
  • AA–ZZ double alphabet for large filing systems
  • Custom letter ranges and letter-plus-text labels

Color options and finishing

Choose from 19 Mylar colors, mix colors across the set, and add Mylar edge reinforcing for durability. Sets are collated alphabetically and 3-hole punched to match your binder.

How many banks does A–Z take?

Twenty-six tabs always spans multiple banks, and the cut decides how many: a 1/5 cut cascades A–E, F–J, K–O, P–T, U–Y, Z — six banks of big, readable 2-inch tabs. A 1/8 cut does it in four banks at 1.25 inches, and a 1/13 cut in two banks for the most compact set. Deeper cuts fit more of the alphabet per cascade but shrink each tab; for reference books and public-facing binders the 1/5 stays most legible, while records rooms that file thousands of folders usually take the tighter cuts.

Every set arrives collated in letter order, so assembling binders is one pass. And a set does not have to be the whole alphabet — A–M / N–Z half-sets for split binders, or a range like A–T, price and print the same way.

Combined letters: the file-room convention

High-volume filing rarely gives every letter its own tab, because customer names are not evenly distributed — S and M sections overflow while Q and X sit empty. The file-room convention combines the light letters: I–J, Q–R, U–V, and XYZ on shared tabs, and busy practices sometimes split heavy letters into Sa–Sm / Sn–Sz or add a dedicated Mc tab where surnames demand it. Because we print to your exact wording, any combination scheme is just typed into the designer — there is no stock list to fight.

For legal exhibit work the alphabet extends past Z: double-letter AA–ZZ sets continue an exhibit run to 52 positions and beyond, collated in court order.

Frequently asked questions

Do you offer double-letter (AA–ZZ) alphabetical tabs?

Yes. Along with standard A–Z sets, we make double-alphabet AA–ZZ sets for large filing systems, plus any custom letter sequence you specify.

Can I add words next to each letter?

Yes — each tab's label is fully customizable, so you can print just the letter or a letter plus text (for example, "A — Accounts").

Are alphabetical sets collated in order?

Yes, every set is collated alphabetically and edge-reinforced, ready to drop into the binder.

What cut should an A–Z set use?

It depends on how the binder is read. A 1/5 cut spreads A–Z across six banks of 2-inch tabs — the most legible, best for directories and reference binders people browse. A 1/8 cut takes four banks at 1.25 inches, and a 1/13 cut compresses the alphabet into two banks for space-tight filing. All price the same at the same quantity; pick by readability, not cost.

Can letters share a tab, like XYZ or I–J?

Yes — that is standard file-room practice, because name volume is uneven across the alphabet. Common combinations are I–J, Q–R, U–V, and XYZ, which trims a 26-position set down to about 21 and keeps every section usefully full. Heavy letters can go the other way — Sa–Sm / Sn–Sz splits, or a dedicated Mc tab. You type the exact scheme into the designer and we print and collate it in order.

Do you make partial alphabet sets, like A–M or A–T?

Yes. Half-alphabet sets (A–M and N–Z) suit two-binder splits, and any custom range — A–T for a 20-exhibit run, say — prices exactly like a full set at the same tab count. Sets arrive collated in letter order either way.

Thanks !

Justin was so nice to work with ! He answered all my questions and now I feel like an expert :)

Megan, thank you for the kind words — I'll pass them straight to Justin. Getting every question answered before anything prints is exactly how we like to work, so "now I feel like an expert" is about the best review we could ask for. Whenever your next set of tabs comes up, your questions are always welcome. John Anselmo, Tabzoola

Great Price

Glad I found you online. You're approximately 30 percent less than my old supplier and easier to work with. I'll be back.

Ben H. · Aug 22, 2026

Thank you, Ben — the price is no accident. We publish the whole table, setup included, so the number you see while you design is the number on the invoice. Glad the switch was easy, and we'll be ready when you are. — Tabzoola

Great customer service

I can't say enough about how great Justin was helping me with my order. After I approved the order he took time to call me to ask if i was sure about a decision to use next day delivery on the whole order when only a partial would keep me going while the rest of the order shipped ups ground. He saved me a ton of money. Thank you for caring about your customers. I wish more people were like you.

Amy L. · Aug 20, 2026
Response from Tabzoola

Thank you, Amy — I'll make sure Justin sees this. Splitting the shipment so only the part you needed went next-day was the right call, and it's the kind of thing we'd rather catch on the phone than have you find on the invoice. Anyone here would have made that call. Thank you for taking the time to write it down. — Tabzoola

Thank You

My old supplier went out of business. You guys produced an exact copy of what we've been using. Thank you!!!

Perri V. · Aug 18, 2026
Response from Tabzoola

Thank you, Perri — losing a supplier you've used for years is a real headache, and matching a set you already rely on is the kind of job we like. If you ever need another one matched, a photo of an existing tab is enough for us to pick up the titles and the colors. Glad we could keep you running. — Tabzoola

Perfect!

Tabs came out better than expected. Will definitely be back.

Joan S. · Aug 18, 2026
Response from Tabzoola

Thank you, Joan — better than expected is a good place to land. The part people usually don't expect is the make: real die-cut tabs on index stock, with the Mylar bonded on both sides of the extension, which is where tabs tear first. We'll be ready whenever you need the next run. — Tabzoola
