Paper TabsPoly Tabs

Tabzoola is a US manufacturer and supplier of custom 6 tab dividers in the 1/6 cut, printed and die-cut to order at our own plant in Schaumburg, Illinois — the online tab division of Anselmo Die & Index, Inc., die-cutting index tabs since 1993 and shipping nationwide.

A 6 tab divider set uses the 1/6 cut: six tab positions stepping across the page edge before the pattern repeats. Six is the count that fits a quarterly-plus-two structure, a six-department binder, or a manual that has outgrown five sections but does not divide into eight.

Type your six section names, or enter a range and the designer fills them, and the set arrives collated and punched. Tabzoola prices 25 sets of 6-tab paper dividers at $6.30 a set, $157.50 total, setup included.

What the 1/6 cut gives you

Six positions across a letter-size edge leaves each tab about 1.6 inches wide — wider than an eighth cut, narrower than a fifth. That is enough for a two-word label at 12 point, which is the practical difference between six and eight: an eight-tab set usually has to abbreviate, a six-tab set usually does not.

The cut is geometry, not quantity. A set can carry more than six tabs on a 1/6 cut; the seventh starts a second staggered bank. But six is the count the cut was made for, and a set that matches its cut reads cleanest on the shelf.

  • 1/6 cut = six tab positions across the page edge
  • About 1.6 inches of label width — room for two short words
  • Paper with Mylar-reinforced edges, or wipe-clean poly

Where six-tab sets get used

Six shows up wherever the structure is six by nature: a fiscal year split into halves and quarters, a six-region sales binder, a six-step procedure, a school binder with six subjects. Stock six-tab packs exist because the count is common; printing to order means the tabs say what the sections are instead of 1 through 6.

It is also the count people land on after trying five and finding one section always needed splitting. If that is you, the sixth tab costs the same as the other five and nothing has to be abbreviated to make room.

Stock six-tab packs versus printed sets

For one binder, a store pack with insertable labels is the sensible buy. The comparison changes the moment the same set repeats: a printed 6-tab paper set is $6.30 per set at the 25-set minimum, $2.76 at 100 and $1.86 at 250, with the titles printed, the edges reinforced, the holes punched and the sets collated — work a stock pack leaves to whoever is assembling the binders.

A 5-tab set is $5.45 per set at 25 and $1.57 at 250 if five will do; the price scales with the tab count because every tab is a printed, die-cut piece.

Frequently asked questions

What is a 6 tab divider?

A divider sheet with six die-cut tabs stepping across the page edge — a 1/6 cut — so a binder opens to any of six sections without hunting. Tabzoola prints the six titles to order on index stock or poly, reinforces the tab edge, punches the holes and collates the sets.

How much do 6 tab dividers cost?

A custom-printed 6-tab paper set is $6.30 per set at the 25-set minimum ($157.50), $2.76 per set at 100 sets and $1.86 at 250, setup included in every figure and priced instantly in the designer. A 5-tab set is $5.45 per set at 25 and $1.57 at 250.

Can I get 6 tab dividers with my own titles printed on them?

Yes — that is the whole product. Type the six section names in the designer, pick a Mylar or poly color for each tab if you want them color-coded, and a free PDF proof shows exactly what will print before you order.

Does Dollar Tree sell binder dividers?

Often, yes — blank write-on or insertable-label packs, and for a single light-use binder they are a sensible purchase. What discount and office-store shelves do not carry is a set printed with your own section names; that is manufactured to order, and at 25 sets or more it is usually cheaper per divider than the store pack once the hand-labelling is counted.

How do I make my own tab dividers?

Our free 1/6 template carries the exact production geometry if you want to print a few at home. For anything beyond one or two binders, home-printed tabs have no edge reinforcement and no die-cut, which is where they fail first; a printed set from the plant costs less per divider at volume and arrives finished.

What is the turnaround on 6 tab dividers?

About 5 business days for paper after you approve the free PDF proof, about 15 for poly, shipping UPS Ground from Schaumburg, Illinois — next-day to most of the Midwest, one to three days to most of the country. A 3-Day Rush is available on paper.

Great Price

Glad I found you online. You're approximately 30 percent less than my old supplier and easier to work with. I'll be back.

Ben H. · Aug 22, 2026
Response from Tabzoola

Thank you, Ben — the price is no accident. We publish the whole table, setup included, so the number you see while you design is the number on the invoice. Glad the switch was easy, and we'll be ready when you are. — Tabzoola

Great customer service

I can't say enough about how great Justin was helping me with my order. After I approved the order he took time to call me to ask if i was sure about a decision to use next day delivery on the whole order when only a partial would keep me going while the rest of the order shipped ups ground. He saved me a ton of money. Thank you for caring about your customers. I wish more people were like you.

Amy L. · Aug 20, 2026
Response from Tabzoola

Thank you, Amy — I'll make sure Justin sees this. Splitting the shipment so only the part you needed went next-day was the right call, and it's the kind of thing we'd rather catch on the phone than have you find on the invoice. Anyone here would have made that call. Thank you for taking the time to write it down. — Tabzoola

Thank You

My old supplier went out of business. You guys produced an exact copy of what we've been using. Thank you!!!

Perri V. · Aug 18, 2026
Response from Tabzoola

Thank you, Perri — losing a supplier you've used for years is a real headache, and matching a set you already rely on is the kind of job we like. If you ever need another one matched, a photo of an existing tab is enough for us to pick up the titles and the colors. Glad we could keep you running. — Tabzoola

Perfect!

Tabs came out better than expected. Will definitely be back.

Joan S. · Aug 18, 2026
Response from Tabzoola

Thank you, Joan — better than expected is a good place to land. The part people usually don't expect is the make: real die-cut tabs on index stock, with the Mylar bonded on both sides of the extension, which is where tabs tear first. We'll be ready whenever you need the next run. — Tabzoola
