Paper TabsPoly Tabs

Tabzoola is a US manufacturer and supplier of custom 13 tab dividers in the 1/13 cut, printed and die-cut to order at our own plant in Schaumburg, Illinois — the online tab division of Anselmo Die & Index, Inc., die-cutting index tabs since 1993 and shipping nationwide.

Thirteen is an unusual count with a specific home: a year of twelve periods plus a summary, an exhibit range that runs 1 to 13, or a policy manual with thirteen chapters. Stock packs stop at twelve, so the thirteenth tab usually means a second pack and a mismatch. Printing to order means the set is simply thirteen.

Enter a 1–13 range or type the thirteen titles; the 1/13 cut steps all of them across one page edge. Tabzoola prices 25 sets of 13-tab paper dividers at $12.25 a set, $306.25 total, setup included.

What a 1/13 cut looks like

Thirteen positions across a letter-size edge gives each tab about three-quarters of an inch — a number or a very short word at 10 to 12 point, which is why thirteen-tab sets are almost always numbered or lettered rather than titled. On legal-size stock the tabs step across the longer 14-inch edge and gain a little width.

Where the sections need real words, the alternative is a wider cut with the extra tabs stepping into a second bank: thirteen titles on a 1/7 cut become two rows of seven and six, each tab twice as wide. The designer does that automatically when the count exceeds the cut.

  • 1/13 cut = thirteen positions across one page edge
  • About 0.75 inch per tab — numbers and letters, not phrases
  • Legal size available on request for exhibit binders

Exhibit ranges, fiscal periods, and the thirteenth tab

Trial and deposition binders run exhibits in whatever count the case produced; thirteen is as common as any other number, and a set that matches the exhibit list exactly is easier to check than a stock 1–15 pack with two empty tabs at the end. Enter the range and the tabs are sequenced without retyping.

Twelve-plus-one is the other regular customer: twelve months or twelve periods and a summary or index tab, or twelve departments and a contents tab at the front.

Pricing a thirteen-tab set

A printed 13-tab paper set is $12.25 per set at the 25-set minimum, $5.63 at 100 and $3.89 at 250, setup included, priced instantly as you design. A 5-tab set is $5.45 per set at 25 and $1.57 at 250 — the price moves with the tab count because every tab is a printed, die-cut piece. A free PDF proof comes before anything prints.

Frequently asked questions

Can I order 13 tab dividers, or only standard counts?

Any count from 2 to 150. Thirteen is printed to order on a 1/13 cut — or on a wider cut with the tabs stepping into a second bank if the titles need more room. Nothing about the count is standard or non-standard here; the designer cuts what you enter.

How much do 13 tab dividers cost?

A custom-printed 13-tab paper set is $12.25 per set at the 25-set minimum ($306.25), $5.63 per set at 100 and $3.89 at 250, setup included and priced instantly. A 5-tab set is $5.45 per set at 25 and $1.57 at 250.

Do you make 13 tab dividers in legal size?

Yes, on request — legal-size (8.5 by 14) dividers are quoted rather than priced in the online designer, so email your section list and quantity and the quote comes back the same business day. Letter size prices instantly.

Do you put tab dividers before or after the section?

Before. The tab announces the section that follows it, exactly like a chapter title page, so a binder loads as divider one, then section one, divider two, then section two. Collated sets arrive already in that order.

How to make your own tab dividers?

The free templates carry the exact production geometry if you want to print a few yourself. A thirteen-across layout is hard to print accurately at home, though — the positions are three-quarters of an inch apart — which is the main reason thirteen-tab sets are ordered printed.

What are the best tab dividers for a trial binder?

The ones that match the exhibit list exactly, survive being flipped through in court, and were proofed before they printed: index stock with Mylar-reinforced tab edges, collated in sequence, with a free PDF proof approved first. Poly if the binder travels.

Great Price

Glad I found you online. You're approximately 30 percent less than my old supplier and easier to work with. I'll be back.

Ben H. · Aug 22, 2026
Response from Tabzoola

Thank you, Ben — the price is no accident. We publish the whole table, setup included, so the number you see while you design is the number on the invoice. Glad the switch was easy, and we'll be ready when you are. — Tabzoola

Great customer service

I can't say enough about how great Justin was helping me with my order. After I approved the order he took time to call me to ask if i was sure about a decision to use next day delivery on the whole order when only a partial would keep me going while the rest of the order shipped ups ground. He saved me a ton of money. Thank you for caring about your customers. I wish more people were like you.

Amy L. · Aug 20, 2026
Response from Tabzoola

Thank you, Amy — I'll make sure Justin sees this. Splitting the shipment so only the part you needed went next-day was the right call, and it's the kind of thing we'd rather catch on the phone than have you find on the invoice. Anyone here would have made that call. Thank you for taking the time to write it down. — Tabzoola

Thank You

My old supplier went out of business. You guys produced an exact copy of what we've been using. Thank you!!!

Perri V. · Aug 18, 2026
Response from Tabzoola

Thank you, Perri — losing a supplier you've used for years is a real headache, and matching a set you already rely on is the kind of job we like. If you ever need another one matched, a photo of an existing tab is enough for us to pick up the titles and the colors. Glad we could keep you running. — Tabzoola

Perfect!

Tabs came out better than expected. Will definitely be back.

Joan S. · Aug 18, 2026
Response from Tabzoola

Thank you, Joan — better than expected is a good place to land. The part people usually don't expect is the make: real die-cut tabs on index stock, with the Mylar bonded on both sides of the extension, which is where tabs tear first. We'll be ready whenever you need the next run. — Tabzoola
