Design Paper TabsPoly Tabs

Tabzoola is a US manufacturer and supplier of custom financial and tax binder tabs, made to order in Schaumburg, Illinois by Anselmo Die & Index, Inc., the family-owned plant that has die-cut index tabs since 1993 and trades online as Tabzoola, shipping nationwide.

Accounting firms, tax preparers, and finance departments use custom tabs to keep returns, audit binders, and client files consistent and easy to navigate. Tabzoola prints financial and tax binder tabs to your exact sections — collated and ready to assemble for every client.

Organize by section name, by month, or by a numbered sequence, and color-code for fast lookup.

Built for tax and financial workflows

Set up a repeatable tab system once and order it for every client binder — income, deductions, schedules, supporting docs, correspondence. Consistent tabs across all files speed up prep and review and look professional at audit time.

  • Custom section names, numbered, or monthly sets
  • Color-code by category for fast lookup
  • Mylar-reinforced for files handled all season
  • Collated and 3-hole punched, ready per client

The financial plan spine most firms settle on

A delivered financial plan tends to follow the same shape regardless of who wrote it, because it answers the same questions in the same order — where the client stands now, what happens at retirement, what the investments are doing, and what happens to the estate. Most practices index it as Current Financial Condition, Retirement and Investments, Estate and Insurance, and Taxes and Planning Documents, then split those into as many sections as their process needs.

Naming those sections in your own language is the point of printing rather than buying a stock pack. A firm that calls it Wealth Snapshot rather than Current Financial Condition should have a binder that says Wealth Snapshot, because the client reads the tab before they read the page.

  • Current Financial Condition — net worth, cash flow, asset inventory
  • Retirement & Investments — projections, allocation, performance
  • Estate & Insurance — wills, trusts, powers of attorney, policies
  • Taxes & Planning Documents — prior returns, recommendations, action items

Two binders, not one

Practices that do both planning and tax work usually build two different sets and get better results by keeping them distinct. The plan binder is a client-facing document handed across a table, and it is read front to back. The tax file is a working record, pulled from a drawer, referenced by section.

Those two jobs want different builds. The plan binder benefits from fewer, broader sections and heavier stock, because it gets carried home and kept. The tax file wants more sections and a hanging tab, because it gets pulled and refiled repeatedly. Both come off the same order screen, and firms commonly order them together in one run.

The review cycle sets the reorder

Advisory practices run on a review calendar — annual for most clients, quarterly for some — and each review that produces an updated plan produces another binder. That makes volume forecastable in a way it is not for most buyers: you know roughly how many client reviews you will run before the year begins.

Ordering the year in one run rather than in pieces means one proof to approve instead of four, and a materially lower per-set price. The minimum is 25 sets, tiers continue to 1,000+, and paper produces in about 5 business days from proof approval.

  • Published price tiers from 25 sets to 1,000+, no quote form
  • One proof, one run, one delivery for the review calendar
  • Saved design, so next year's binders match this year's exactly

The binder is the deliverable a client keeps

Most of what an advisory practice produces is consumed and forgotten. The plan binder is the exception — it goes on a shelf at the client's house and gets opened again months later, often in front of a spouse or an adult child who was not at the meeting.

That makes it the firm's most durable piece of collateral, and it is why the tabs are worth printing. A binder with handwritten or stock dividers says the plan was assembled; one with the firm's own section names printed on it says the plan was prepared. Same paper inside, different impression, and the client is the one who decides which it was.

Binders, folders, or both

Plan binders are almost always three-ring and want side tabs stepping down the binding edge. Tax and client files are frequently kept in expandable folders in a drawer, where bottom-position (hanging) tabs face the person reaching for them.

The format changes where the tab sits on the sheet, not what can be printed on it — your section names, colors and cut stay the same. A practice running both can order matching sets so the wording is identical whichever way a document is stored.

Order once, repeat every season

Save your tab layout and reorder the same set each year. Pricing shows live as you configure, and a PDF proof is emailed before anything prints.

Frequently asked questions

What sections go in a financial plan binder?

Most practices build around four groups — Current Financial Condition (net worth, cash flow, asset inventory), Retirement and Investments (projections, allocation, performance), Estate and Insurance (wills, trusts, powers of attorney, policies), and Taxes and Planning Documents (prior returns, recommendations, action items) — then split those into as many tabs as their process needs. Because the tabs are printed to your wording, the binder uses your firm's language rather than a generic label set.

Should the plan binder and the tax file use the same set?

Usually not, and practices get better results keeping them distinct. A plan binder is client-facing, read front to back, and suits fewer broad sections on heavier stock. A tax file is a working record pulled from a drawer, which suits more sections and a bottom-position (hanging) tab. Both come off the same order screen and are commonly ordered together in one run.

Can I reorder the same tax binder tabs every year?

Yes — once your layout is set, reordering the same set each season is quick, so every client binder stays consistent.

Can financial tabs be organized by month?

Yes. Order monthly (Jan–Dec or a fiscal sequence), by numbered section, or by custom section names — whatever matches your workflow.

What's the minimum order for client binder tabs?

25 sets minimum, with volume pricing as quantity increases — practical for a firm setting up many client binders.

Response from Tabzoola

Megan, thank you for the kind words — I'll pass them straight to Justin. Getting every question answered before anything prints is exactly how we like to work, so "now I feel like an expert" is about the best review we could ask for. Whenever your next set of tabs comes up, your questions are always welcome. John Anselmo, Tabzoola

Great Price

Glad I found you online. You're approximately 30 percent less than my old supplier and easier to work with. I'll be back.

Ben H. · Aug 22, 2026
Response from Tabzoola

Thank you, Ben — the price is no accident. We publish the whole table, setup included, so the number you see while you design is the number on the invoice. Glad the switch was easy, and we'll be ready when you are. — Tabzoola

Great customer service

I can't say enough about how great Justin was helping me with my order. After I approved the order he took time to call me to ask if i was sure about a decision to use next day delivery on the whole order when only a partial would keep me going while the rest of the order shipped ups ground. He saved me a ton of money. Thank you for caring about your customers. I wish more people were like you.

Amy L. · Aug 20, 2026
Response from Tabzoola

Thank you, Amy — I'll make sure Justin sees this. Splitting the shipment so only the part you needed went next-day was the right call, and it's the kind of thing we'd rather catch on the phone than have you find on the invoice. Anyone here would have made that call. Thank you for taking the time to write it down. — Tabzoola

My old supplier went out of business. You guys produced an exact copy of what we've been using. Thank you!!!

Perri V. · Aug 18, 2026
Response from Tabzoola

Thank you, Perri — losing a supplier you've used for years is a real headache, and matching a set you already rely on is the kind of job we like. If you ever need another one matched, a photo of an existing tab is enough for us to pick up the titles and the colors. Glad we could keep you running. — Tabzoola

Perfect!

Tabs came out better than expected. Will definitely be back.

Joan S. · Aug 18, 2026
Response from Tabzoola

Thank you, Joan — better than expected is a good place to land. The part people usually don't expect is the make: real die-cut tabs on index stock, with the Mylar bonded on both sides of the extension, which is where tabs tear first. We'll be ready whenever you need the next run. — Tabzoola
